A vision underpins what we do

We're working for a world where we connect every teacher to the things that each child knows, understands and can do. Formative assessment is a tool that every teacher should have and should be able to apply to maximum effect. It can be their most powerful tool for improving outcomes for their children.

​In reality you’re under huge pressure, and it is already hard enough to find the time for what you do best and what’s most important: creating brilliant learning experiences for your children. We find ways to make sure assessment leaves you with as much time as possible for this.

We're not working alone

We’re part of an assessment revolution, leading the way with our innovative online tools and a bold, collaborative approach to sharing what we learn.

​As well as working directly with over 1,000 schools, we partnered with GL Assessment to design the Foundation Phase Profile for the Welsh Government. And just as many schools in England benefited from the Reception Baseline Assessment tool we developed for the NFER, which was one of only three assessments to get final approval from the Department for Education. In all, we’ve been supporting tens of thousands of teachers in putting assessment at the heart of learning for over a decade.

It doesn't end there

The Assessment Foundation has a history of creating ground-breaking online tools and assessment frameworks. But we’ve never stopped looking for ways to do better: to make your lives easier, to better reflect the things you need and to respond to our ever-changing education systems.
